Depending on the design of the shower, a profile is mounted over the entire surface of the wall and sealed with silicone. A rubber seal is also used in the connection between the glass and glass to achieve the best possible seal against splashing water.
The critical point is the connection between the glass and the floor at the moving parts. Door movement must not be restricted and yet the sealing lip must be perfectly flush with the floor.
This is not a problem with our patented LINC lift-and-turn hinge and with the SEC series, but with the ARC design hinge we are a little more challenged.
Due to the design, it can happen that accumulating water finds its way out. For this reason, the shower is always installed on a slope so that all the water finds its way out and no flooding occurs in the bathroom. If the floor has too little slope, our fitters have the option of gluing a surge protection to ensure that the shower remains watertight.
